Porterville Groundwater Sustainability Agency
PIDGSA

Home / Groundwater Sustainability Agency

The Porterville Irrigation District Groundwater Sustainability Agency (PIDGSA) was formed to meet the requirements of SGMA and to provide local control over groundwater management within our portion of the Tule Subbasin.

Our agency is governed by the Porterville Irrigation District Board of Directors, who provide oversight and policy direction. PIDGSA is dedicated to transparent governance, science-based planning, and collaborative engagement with our community. Together, we are working to achieve groundwater sustainability by 2040, preserving this critical resource for current and future generations.

Meetings:

PID GSA meetings are open to the public, and participation is strongly encouraged. The Board and Stakeholder Committees provide forums for policy discussions, technical updates, and stakeholder feedback.

  • Board Meetings: Held on the third Thursday of the month, where significant policies, budgets, and actions are adopted.
  • Stakeholder Committee: Meets on the first Thursday of each month, serving as an Advisory body of landowners and water users that provides input and recommendations to the Board.
  • Special Meetings & Workshops: Scheduled as needed to address emerging issues or provide educational opportunities.

Agendas, minutes, and supporting materials are posted online in advance of scheduled meetings.
